The Covenant House is a nonprofit organization that provides safe housing and holistic care to youth ages 12-24 experiencing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking across the US. We donate Baby Sprout EDU gardening kits and build self-watering planters for their NYC facilities.
After four iterations of the Baby Sprout, we decided to create an educational version made for students to provide hands-on education on plant science and nutrition. In the fall of 2021, we started working with elementary science classes at Avenues: The World School, to test and develop this product into an informative and engaging learning tool. Now, about two years later, we are working with the Covenant House to introduce the Baby Sprout EDU to classes of students ranging from elementary to high school. So far, we have produced and donated 50 kits to four homeless shelters in Manhattan and the Bronx.
After 4 hrs, 50 of our educational Baby Sprout gardening kits are ready to be delivered to the Covenant House homeless shelters. Shout out to Dexter and Ronnie for working hard to package all the kits in time!
Today we delivered 50 kits to various Covenant House homeless shelters across the Bronx and Manhattan. We also finally got the chance to meet with our Covenant House colleagues in-person!
